South Ward District 2 Committee Person Jenna Figueroa Kettenburg and the Latino Merchants Association called on volunteers in the city to help with a clean up of the South Ward's Lamberton, Centre, Furman and Federal Streets. We are humbled by the showing. Community leaders and residents from all over the city and neighboring Townships showed up to show their support. We thank everyone for coming out and getting dirty! This is what community and togetherness is about. Together we are great! Together we are strong! Together we will set the example and bring our city back up to its full potential. Our common goal is to change the mentality and develop a care for the city we live in. Pa'lante!
In light of the destruction and devastation that occurred last Sunday in our Downtown Trenton, the Latino Merchants Association would like to say that we are hopelessly disappointed that in approximately 100 store fronts in the city of Trenton, approximately 60 were Latino owned businesses. The LMA stands with our Black communities across America in that we are united in being minorities and we understand the anger and angst felt by the Black communities. We are saddened however, being that we are constant givers to our communities and we feel targeted. Please, we plead for equality and justice, but looting the local black and brown businesses of the communities that house all of us is not the answer. We implore the black communities to reach out to us and we will support yours and America's cause that we stand with you against inequality, police brutality and injustice. Our business stand with our community.
Giving a helping hand to our community.
We Thank You For Your Support!
Our commitment to our community is what matters.

Latino Merchants Association of NJ would humbly like to lend our hands to our city of Trenton, NJ. We expect to help all of our city's wards, North, South, East and West. Our goal is to provide 3,000 hot meals and masks to those in need. During this Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, many people have been worrying about their next meal among other things, being out of work and/or preparing more meals at home. There are people roaming the streets without a protective mask because none are readily available to them. We would like to do our part to lend helping hands. Please join us and donate whatever you can to make this goal happen. Let's put a smile on the faces of those that are worried, and assure them that they are not alone. We are all in this together and together we can make a difference. Thank you all and please continue to follow WHO guidelines to be safe, wash your hands, comply with social distancing, wear gloves when you can and STAY HOME when and if you can. Our healthcare workers go to work so we can stay home. Together we stand, together we will rise again.
We had a successful kickstart to our 3000 meals and masks program 04/29/20 at Spring St and Calhoun. We managed to give out approximately 500 meals, masks and bottles of water and managed to remind people of the importance of the US Census. This helped the local business and they also donated some of the meals. Stay tuned for our next
